The Hope Diamond weigh 45.52 carats (9.104 g) and has an unusually intense and strongly-colored type of luminescence described as "fancy deep grayish-blue." The original form of the Hope Diamond was stolen from an eye of a sculpted idol of the Hindu goddess Sita.
It's one of the star attraction of the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian Institution.
